Stuff to Read, 3/23/11
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Pretty busy with my biomechanics research, lab development, and training, so I’m light on content. Here’s some links to tide you over for the time being!
- The Extra 2%: How Wall Street Strategies Took a Major League Baseball Team from Worst to First is an excellent Moneyball-like book on the Tampa Bay Rays’ success under Andrew Friedman’s tenure. While it doesn’t have the same heartwarming stories about Scott Hatteberg like Moneyball does, it’s an excellent must-read for fans of the game. (And if you haven’t read Moneyball, get that too!)
- Eric Cressey is putting together his In-Season Baseball Strength and Conditioning series of posts. He’s got three parts up right now – you can find the other two parts from that post that I linked to. Definitely go check it out.
- We kicked off our Research Study on our Velocity Development Program 2.0 to help improve the quality of our Elite Baseball Development program! We have 10 participants and we’re looking forward to collecting some data over the next six weeks. A big part of it is our under/overload training principles with weighted baseballs, a link that continues to get a lot of hits on the website!
